The Channel Partner Manager (CPM) is responsible for the recruitment, development, and management of the business relationships with Reseller and Alliance partners in the US. The successful CPM will work in tandem with Account Executives and Solution Architects to successfully develop new and existing partners.  They will collaborate with the Marketing team on programs and events designed to promote Model9 products and drive revenue through partners.  This is an individual contributor positon but we are seeking an entrepreneurial candidate who has managed channel teams and/or can lead a channel team. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Create strategies and lead team efforts to maximize sell-through of Model9 products within channel
  • Enable and train partners field sales/SE staff to ensure we have self-sufficient partners
  • Manage and be the main point of contact for existing partners
  • Aggressively drive partners to maximize sales through sales best practices, training and support
  • Establish and maintain relationships with executives and key individuals within partners to drive growth
  • Host and organize partner executive briefings with key partners    
  • Communicate masterfully with partners on new product offerings 
  • Work with marketing to drive programs and events to extend the relationships to new prospects 
  • Build a network with Model9 partner companies – AWS, Azure, Hitachi, Cohesity etc. 
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, product seminars, and trade shows 
  • Be willing to travel extensively and be in front of partner companies within the region 

Ideal Candidate

  • 5 – 10 years of demonstrated experience developing Reseller and Alliance Channels. 
  • Knowledge of the Enterprise software industry including Storage, Backup, Data Protection and Cloud
  • Passionate to build a business, travel within the territory and be in front of partners 
  • Able to initiate deals with partners, help close them in close sync with Model9 sales teams
  • Ability to establish executive relationships and bring value to partner sales teams
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Has worked with vendors like AWS, Azure, Hitachi, Cohesity etc. and understands how to build a joint solution with partners.   
  • Great relationship and reputation with key partners
  • Ability to assess, plan, and actively manage a territory to achieve maximum revenue and efficiency

Job responsibilities:
  • Responsibility for on-boarding customers once customer bought the Model9 software until the product is fully operational in production
  • In a post-sales leading consultative role to support the implementation of the professional services solution that was scoped
  • Understand customer’s technical needs related to a specific implementation or specific product (i.e. Backup, archive, Cloud Data Sets, transformation service). 
  • Design end-to end solution for the customer and help our customers to optimize and accelerate their Model9 journey to the cloud  in an optimized way
  • Identify and resolve customer issues during the installation and implementation process  
  • Develop scripts for both integration of Model9 into a customer’s operational environment and the automation of our solution  
  • Ensure new onboarding success with thorough Customer Success Team, meeting deadlines and frequent communication
  • Provide technical consultation/education to the sales teams and keep them apprised on new solutions.
  • Participate in customer evaluations and proof of concepts on Model9 solutions.
  • Plan, conduct and direct projects to support sales efforts and address future customer needs
Job requirements:
    • 2+ years as a z/OS Storage Administrator or System Programmer
    • Basic knowledge in z/OS Unix System Services
    • Basic Linux skills
    • Networking knowledge in areas such as LAN, WAN, Routing, DNS and HTTPS
    • Experience in performance monitoring, WLM and RMF
    • Understanding of Object Storage protocols and capabilities
